Tools Every Writer Needs !

    I'm sure you're wondering what tools a writer needs.  Most will probably say.  A Pen, or pencil to write, a tablet to jot down ideas, and a desk and a typewriter, or computer.  And All would be correct.  These are definitely things a writer needs to get started writing.  But there's more.  Three more important things all writers must have to become a writer.

1.  Faith.  Faith in yourself and your abilities that God has given you to do the things that will enrich your life.  My writing instructor told me this, now I'm going to tell you.  "If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will"

2.  Hope-  Hope in the future, your future.  You must have hope that's what leads and guides you in life.  The hope that good thing will happen if you work  hard and stay positive in this up and down world.

3. Determination.  This is where most fail.  They stop at the least bit of difficulty and think the path they have chosen is to hard.  The goal they are seeking is out of reach, and they will never succeed and give up.  You must sit down and count the cost before you start any journey.  Are you a quiter, or will you struggle through until you reach your desired goal .  I won't kid you, writing is hard.  Ask any writer and they will definitely agree.  One never thinks about the hours it takes a writer to write a book, we just enjoy them.  But now you have on the writers hat and you will see the hard work involved.  It a journey that never ends.  Writing is a journey, not a destination.  A writer is always learning things to make him a better writer.  You must have a drive and passion to write no mater what happens, because writing is your passion.  If you make money, that's great.  But never write just to make money.  Write because it the breath in you to tell that story no matter what.  You Won't Quit!

Read this little poem for inspiration.  Copy it & hang it where you can see it everyday.  You are a writer, and you won't quit until you achieve your goal!

   Don't Quit
by Edgar A. Guest

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit -
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about when he
Might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than it seems
To a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up when he
Might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And when you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst,
You must not quit.
